Fashion Photography Curious

Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Light a Model by Billy Pegram is a good book for the ambitious photography student who is curious about what it takes to get started in fashion photography and working with models. He covers a lot of areas but there are so many avenues to pursue his book is really just the beginning but it's a good place to start.

Simple but Good

Since I have chosen to pursue boudoir photography I was happy to receive Boudoir Lighting by Robin Owen. She keeps things simple. Visualizing her image and the executing it with simple minimal props and fairly simple one light set ups for the most part. I actually flipped through it again while I was doing a shoot for a friend to jump start my imagination a bit. A good book for the beginner.

A DIY Intro to Photography Course

I recently finished ABCs of Beautiful Light by Rosanne Olson. This is a great book for a self starting beginner photographer or for an actual Intro to Photography class. She covers the basics of photography and then goes into the basics of different flash techniques. She even includes assignments with each section she covers so it really is the perfect book for someone trying to learn on their own. It can be found here:
